First off, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments on the Lost Child Reliquary. That was a really hard piece to do for many reasons. It's been kinda hard for me to show it, too. It's not that I'm not proud of the piece, it's that I was worried about how women who'd lost children would feel about it. I understand loss in a general way because I've experienced it many, many times. But understanding it in general doesn't alwways mean that I'd undrestand the specifics. Maybe this wasn't my story to tell since it didn't happen to me. But the comments here proved that I succeeded in getting my idea & feeling across. Thank you. That means a lot.

My mental health issues have been causing much havok for me-- my ability to focus on things progressively deteriorated to the point that I did not finish a single piece in it's entirety at all last semester. Yuck. Even worse, right before finals, they put me on a new med that I nicknamed the Coma Med. Because that's what it did. It made me sleep for 18 hours a day. Not normal sleep, either- waking up was like coming out from anesthesia. The brain was fuzzy & weird for hours afterwards. It really sucked. So I'm playing catch-up still. The Empty Pillow is a piece that I started last April. I kept running into technical issues with it, largely because with a brain that's not functioning well, it's hard to plan out a piece properly & pieces with lots of mechanical parts need to be properly planned out in order to put them together well.
